Undergraduate Degrees
The table below shows the minimum academic requirements for entry to courses at undergraduate level.
Most international students are required to study a university foundation course before progressing to a
bachelor's degree.

University Foundation
|
Academic Requirements
Completion of secondary school in your own country (Year 11+) with good grades, equivalent to 4-5 IGCSE passes
(grades A-C, 4-9). Most overseas school qualifications are accepted for these courses. On successful completion, you
can progress to year 1 of a bachelor's degree.
English Requirements
IELTS Academic 4.5 overall, with a minimum score of 4.0 in all skills (or equivalent1).

International Year One
|
Academic Requirements
These courses are for students who have studied an A Level, IB or university foundation course, but did not achieve the
grades needed to progress to a bachelor's degree. They are also suitable for students who have achieved good grades at
AS Level. They are equivalent to the first year of a bachelor's degree in the UK.
English Requirements
IELTS Academic 4.5 - 5.0 overall, with a minimum score of 4.5 in all skills (or equivalent1).

| Bachelor's Degree Direct Entry |
Academic Requirements
Some overseas high school qualifications2 are accepted for direct entry to a UK Bachelor's Degree,
but most international students will have to study a
university foundation course or A Levels / IB first.
English Requirements
IELTS Academic 6.0 - 6.5 overall, with a minimum score of 6.0 in all skills (or equivalent1).

Master's Degrees

|
Academic Requirements
A bachelor's degree from an internationally recognised university (Third Class/Pass).
Some courses will accept a Higher National Diploma (Upper Credit) in a closely related subject.
On successful completion, you can progress to a master's degree.

IELTS Academic 4.5 - 5.0 overall, with a minimum score of 4.5 in all skills (or equivalent1).

Academic Requirements
A bachelor's degree from an internationally recognised university (First or Second Class).
Must be in a related subject. Most MBA courses require 2+ years' professional work experience.
English Requirements
IELTS Academic 6.0 - 6.5 overall, with a minimum score of 6.0 in all skills (or equivalent1).
