Improve Your English Before Starting A Pathway Course

These courses are for students who need to improve their English level before starting a university pathway (e.g. university foundation course or pre-master's). Students learn a range of academic English skills, including reading, writing, speaking and listening as well as grammar and vocabulary. Courses last from a few weeks to a whole academic year, depending on your level of English and the score you need to achieve. An improvement in your IELTS score of 0.5 overall will typically take 8 - 12 weeks.

Entry Requirements

Most universities can offer an adademic English course if you do not meet their English entry requirements. If you think you need an academic English course, please ask your student advisor about options and availability.

Type Minimum Requirements
Academic You must hold an offer for a university pathway course to be eligible for an academic English course.
English You will need an English level equivalent to IELTS 3.5 - 4.0. These courses are not suitable for beginners or elementary level students.
