Confirm Your Place

Once you have received a formal offer, the next step is to confirm your place. It is very important to confirm your place as soon as possible, especially if you need a student visa. This section explains how to confirm your place.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I confirm my place?

To confirm your place, you will need to accept your offer and pay the confirmation deposit. Full instructions, including payment methods, will be set out in your offer letter.

Places on most courses are limited, so we recommend you accept your offer as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. If you need a student visa, you should leave plenty of time (at least 6 weeks) for your visa application. Remember, your visa documents will not be issued by the course provider until you have confirmed your place.

What is the confirmation deposit?

To confirm your place, you will need to pay a proportion of your fees in advance. This is called the confirmation deposit, which is paid by you directly to the course provider. If you are a government sponsored student, you will not have to pay a confirmation deposit. A Financial Guarantee Letter from your sponsor will be sufficient to confirm your place.

Will I get a refund if my visa application is refused?

The majority of course providers on our website will refund your confirmation deposit (less a small administration fee) if your visa application is refused through no fault of your own. You may not get a refund if you failed to disclose important information on your application form, for example criminal convictions or previous visa refusals.

If a full refund is not offered, it is usually possible to defer entry to a later date instead.

Will I get a refund if I change my mind?

The refund policy will be set out in the terms and conditions sent to you with your offer letter. If you do not have a copy of the terms and conditions, please ask your student advisor to send them to you.

When can I apply for my student visa?

You cannot apply for a student visa until the course provider issues your visa documentation. Your visa documentation will not be issued until you have confirmed your place and the confirmation deposit has cleared into the course provider's bank account.

In addition, if you hold a conditional offer, you will have to meet the conditions before your visa documentation is issued.
