About This Course

This International Foundation Year prepares overseas students for admission to undergraduate degrees in Biosciences at The University Of Manchester. The course is taught at INTO University of Manchester and is the first stage of an undergraduate degree for students who have completed Year 11 or 12 at high school in their own country1.

During the course, you will study a combination of academic subjects, English language and study skills. You will study in small classes alongside other international students, with additional support to help you adjust to student life in the UK.

On successful completion of this course, you are guaranteed progression to selected undergraduate degrees at The University Of Manchester, including BSc Molecular Biology.

Admission Requirements

Academic Completion of high school in your own country with excellent grades.

IGCSE / AS Levels are not accepted. A Levels and International Baccalaureate may be accepted, subject to grades and your choice of degree. Students who have already studied a foundation course in the UK cannot be considered, regardless of the outcome. Students with a study gap of more than 2 years are not normally considered for admission.
English UKVI IELTS 5.5 (5.5 in Writing) or equivalent UKVI English test. For biomedicine, pharmacy and psychology, UKVI IELTS 6.0 (6.0 all skills).
Minimum Age You must be at least 17 years on 31 December of the calendar year you start this course.
