About This Course

The Foundation Certificate (Science) is equivalent to year one of a four year bachelor's degree at The University Of Glasgow. It offers an admission route to The University Of Glasgow for international students who have completed Year 11/12 of high school in their own country1

During the course, you will study a full first year curriculum, but with additional support to develop your academic subject knowledge and study skills. Students who do not meet the standard English requirements for The University Of Glasgow will also benefit from enhanced English language support.

On successful completion of this programme, you can progress to the second year of a bachelor's degree in Science, including BSc Veterinary Biosciences. Progression is guaranteed for students who achieve the module scores required for their chosen progression degree.

Admission Requirements

Academic Successful completion of high school, equivalent to 5 IGCSE subjects with very good grades (AABBB).
English * UKVI IELTS 5.5 (4.5 all skills) or equivalent UKVI English test.
Minimum Age Minimum age 16 years (at start of course).

*Students who do not meet the English requirements can study an extended study plan with additional English tuition. The following options are available: Extended Study Plan (2.5 Terms) Starting Jul, Oct: UKVI IELTS 5.0 (4.0 all skills); Extended Study Plan (3 Terms) Starting Jun, Sep: UKVI IELTS 4.5 (4.0 all skills).
