About This Course

This Pre Masters prepares international students for postgraduate study in Media, Humanities And Social Sciences at The University Of Stirling. It is specially designed for students who do not have the academic qualifications normally required for admission to a master's programme at the university. It is also suitable for students who meet the academic requirements but need to improve their English skills before starting a master's.

During the course, you will study in a supportive learning environment alongside other international students. You will have the opportunity to deepen your subject knowledge, develop your study & research skills and improve your academic English to a high level.

On successful completion of this programme, you can progress to selected master's degrees in Media, Humanities And Social Sciences at The University Of Stirling, including MPP Public Policy. Admission is decided on a case by case basis, taking into consideration your academic performance and other factors.

Note: Students studying this course may1 benefit from a single study visa, which will be valid for the duration of the entire programme. That means you will not have to apply for a new visa when you progress from the Pre Masters.

Admission Requirements

Academic Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in any academic subjects, equivalent to a UK Pass/Ordinary Degree in any subject. Or completion of a Higher Diploma (3-5 years) with good grades in any subject.
English * IELTS 5.5 (5.5 all skills) or equivalent English qualification.
Maximum Age Students are normally aged between 21 - 30 years. Students with a study gap of more than 5 years cannot normally be considered for this course.

*Students who do not meet the English requirements can study an extended study plan with additional English tuition. The following options are available: Extended Study Plan (4 Terms) Starting Jan, Jun, Sep: UKVI IELTS 5.0 (5.0 all skills).
