About This Course

This International Foundation Year prepares overseas students for admission to undergraduate degrees in Social Sciences at a Kaplan partner university. The course is taught at Kaplan International College London and is the first stage of an undergraduate degree for students who have completed Year 11 or 12 at high school in their own country1.

During the course, you will study a combination of academic subjects, English language and study skills. You will study in small classes alongside other international students, with additional support to help you adjust to student life in the UK.

On successful completion of this course, you are guaranteed progression to selected undergraduate degrees at a Kaplan partner university, including BSc Economics & Finance at Queen Mary University Of London.

Admission Requirements

Academic Completion of high school with good grades, equivalent to 5 IGCSE subjects with pass grades (E/2), or B/6 for progression to Birmingham, Bristol or York. For progression to Queen Mary, student who follow the UK or IB curriculum will need 3 AS Levels (CCC) or IB (22 points).
English * UKVI IELTS 5.5 (4.5 all skills) or equivalent UKVI English test.
Minimum Age Minimum age 16 years (at start of course). For progression degrees in healthcare, students must be 18 by the time they start their degree course.

*Students who do not meet the English requirements can study an extended study plan with additional English tuition. The following options are available: Extended Study Plan (2.5 Terms) Starting Jan, Feb, Jul, Oct: UKVI IELTS 5.0 (4.0 all skills); Extended Study Plan (3 Terms) Starting Jun, Sep: UKVI IELTS 4.5 (4.0 all skills).
