About This Course

The International Year One (Computing) is a first year degree programme at The University Of Sussex for international students. It is available for selected undergraduate degrees and is specially designed for students who do not meet the standard academic or English admission requirements.

During the course, you will study a full first year curriculum, but with additional support to improve your academic and study skills. Students who do not meet the standard English requirements for The University Of Sussex will also benefit from enhanced English language support.

On successful completion of this programme, you can progress directly to the second year of selected Bachelor's degrees in Computing, including BSc Computing For Digital Media & Games. Progression is guaranteed for students who achieve the module scores required for their chosen progression degree.

Admission Requirements

Academic Completion of high school plus one year of further study, for example AS/A Level (52 UCAS points) or a University Foundation Programme.
English * UKVI IELTS 5.5 (5.5 in writing) or equivalent UKVI English test.
Minimum Age Applicants must turn 18 by the 31 July of the year they are due to progress to university.

*Students who do not meet the English requirements can study an extended study plan with additional English tuition. The following options are available: 10 Weeks Online English + International Year One Starting May: UKVI IELTS 4.5 (4.5 Writing, 4.0 all other skills).
