About This Course

The International Year One (Business & Management) is a first year degree programme at The University Of Sunderland for international students. It is available for selected undergraduate degrees and is specially designed for students who do not meet the standard academic or English admission requirements.

During the course, you will study a full first year curriculum, but with additional support to improve your academic and study skills. Students who do not meet the standard English requirements for The University Of Sunderland will also benefit from enhanced English language support.

On successful completion of this programme, you can progress directly to the second year of selected Bachelor's degrees in Business & Management, including BA Business & Human Resource Management. Progression is guaranteed for students who achieve the module scores required for their chosen progression degree.

Note: Students studying this course may¹ benefit from a single study visa, which will be valid for the duration of the entire programme. That means you will not have to apply for a new visa when you progress from the International Year One.

Admission Requirements

Academic	Completion of high school plus one year of further study (e.g. AS Level or a University Foundation Programme).
English *	UKVI IELTS 5.0 (4.5 all skills). PTE UKVI 43 (43 all skills) or equivalent UKVI Secure English Language Test (SELT). Alternatively, a non-UKVI English qualification equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (5.5 all skills). A wide range of non-UKVI qualifications is accepted, including PTE 57 (51 all skills), TOEFL 73 (Listening 17, Reading 18, Writing 17, Speaking 20), GCSE English 1st Language (D), 2nd language (B), WAEC (C/6).
Minimum Age	Minimum age 18+ years.
