About This Course

The First Year (Accounting and Finance) is a first year degree programme at The University Of Hertfordshire for international students. It is available for selected undergraduate degrees and is specially designed for students who do not meet the standard academic or English admission requirements.

During the course, you will study a full first year curriculum, but with additional support to improve your academic and study skills. Students who do not meet the standard English requirements for The University Of Hertfordshire will also benefit from enhanced English language support.

On successful completion of this programme, you can progress directly to the second year of selected Bachelor's degrees in Accounting And Finance. Progression is guaranteed for students who achieve the module scores required for their chosen progression degree.

Note: Students studying this course may¹ benefit from a single study visa, which will be valid for the duration of the entire programme. That means you will not have to apply for a new visa when you progress from the International Year One.

Admission Requirements

Academic	Completion of high school plus at least one further year of study, for example a university foundation year, AS Level (BBB), A Level (DE) or IB (24 points). A portfolio is required for subjects such as art and fashion.
English	Business: IELTS 5.0; Other subjects: IELTS 6.0. minimum 5.5 in all skills. A wide range of English qualifications is accepted, including some high school English qualifications.
