About This Course

The International Foundation (Media, Humanities & Social Sciences) is a comprehensive programme of academic subjects, study skills and English language. It is specially designed for international students who want to study an undergraduate degree at The University Of Stirling, but do not have the academic qualifications or English level required for direct entry. The course is equivalent to the first year of a degree at the university, but with additional support for overseas students to improve study skills and English language abilities.

On successful completion of this course, you can progress directly to the second year of selected degrees at The University Of Stirling. That means you will complete your studies in the same amount of time as direct entry students.

Scholarships

Regional scholarships of up to £4,000 per year are available to self-funded international students who confirm their place on a foundation programme by June. Merit based scholarships (up to £3,000 per year) are also available for students who progress from a foundation year with a minimum score of 60%.

Entry Requirements

Academic Completion of high school with pass grades, equivalent to 4 passes (DDDD) at IGCSE in relevant subjects (excluding native language).
English English level equivalent to IELTS 5.0 (4.5+ in all skills).
Minimum Age Minimum age 17 years at the start of the academic year (i.e. 1 September ).
