UK University Admission Straight After IGCSE

Students in the UK require A Levels or equivalent¹ for direct entry to a bachelor's degree. However, many universities offer an international program for overseas students who have completed high school in their own country. That means international students who have studied the UK curriculum can go to university straight after completing IGCSE!

How Does It Work?

There are two stages, leading to a bachelor's degree in less than four years:

• Stage 1 : During the first stage of the program, you will study an International Foundation Year. This course is taught on campus at the university and teaches a combination of academic subjects, English language and study skills. Courses start in September or January and take 6 - 9 months to complete.
• Stage 2 : On successful completion of the International Foundation Year, you will progress directly to the first year of a bachelor's degree. In most cases², progression from foundation year to degree is guaranteed.

Entry Requirements

Academic	Completion of secondary school in your own country (Year 11+) with good grades, equivalent to 4 - 5 IGCSE subjects (A-C, 4-9). Most overseas high school qualifications are accepted.
English	An English qualification equivalent to IELTS 4.5 (4.0+ in all skills). Note: In most cases, a UKVI Approved English Test is required to apply for a UK student visa. However, some institutions can accept alternative qualifications, such as TOEFL or a high school English qualification.
Age	Minimum 17 years old for most courses.
