Latest On International Travel To The UK
With the exception of a small number of countries that remain on
the Red List,
the rules for entering the UK depend on your vaccination status.
Fully Vaccinated Travellers
If you completed a full course of vaccination at least 14 days before you travel, then you will need to take a test 2 days after
arrival in the UK. You will not be required to quarantine (unless you test positive).
Important: Your vaccination
status depends on both the type of vaccine you received and the country in which you were vaccinated. So even if you have received a
full dose of vaccine, you need to
check if you qualify as fully vaccinated
before you travel.
Unvaccinated Travellers
If you do not qualify as fully vaccinated, then you will have to quarantine for 10 days on arrival in the UK and take three tests: one in
the 3 days before you travel and two further tests (days 2 and 8) during you period of quarantine.
You can quarantine in your student accommodation and there is no age restriction.
Travellers From Red List Countries
If you have been in a Red List country in the 10 days before you travel, you will be required to quarantine
in supervised hotel accommodation for 10 days after arrival in the UK. You will also have to take a Covid test before you travel
and a further two tests while you quarantine. You will have to pay for the tests and hotel accommodation,
but many universities will make a substantial contribution towards these costs. You will not be able to quarantine unaccompanied
if you are under 18.
