About This Course
This Foundation Year is a specialist programme for international students who want to study a degree in Adult Nursing at Anglia Ruskin University. Students do not need to demonstrate a background in science or healthcare, so this course is also suitable for students who are looking for a career change to Nursing. The following list outlines the stages required to qualify for entry to a degree in Adult Nursing.
- Begin the International Foundation Year at Anglia Ruskin University College in September.
- Submit your UCAS application to Anglia Ruskin University by 15 January.
- Pass a competitive entrance interview (multiple-mini interview format).
- Pass the ARU English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT).
- Students who receive an offer to study nursing at ARU can then accept and confirm their place.
- Undertake a DBS and Occupational Health check.
- Start your degree in September.
Important: Progression to a degree in Adult Nursing is not guaranteed. Successful progression is subject to a competitive interview and you must pass all modules. There are approximately 25 progression places available each year. Students will receive help with their UCAS application and interview preparation. Students who are unable to progress to Nursing will be offered a place on the BSc Public Health instead.

Completion of high school with good grades, equivalent to 5 IGCSE grades 3-9. You do not need a science background for this foundation year.

IELTS 5.5 (5.5 all skills) or equivalent. A wide range of English qualifications is accepted, including some high school English qualifications.
