About This Course

The Pre-Master's (Engineering) is for international students who want to study a master's degree at De Montfort University, but do not have the academic and/or English qualifications for direct entry. During the course, you will deepen your subject knowledge and develop your study & research skills to a high level. You will also have the opportunity to improve your academic English abilities.

On successful completion of this course, you can progress to selected master's degrees at De Montfort University.

Entry Requirements

Academic	Successful completion of a bachelor's degree, equivalent to a UK Degree (3rd Class), or a Higher National Diploma (Credit+, GPA 2.5) in a related subject. For progression to psycholgy, an undergraduate degree in psychology is required and acceptance is subject to an admissions interview.
English	One Term Pre-Master's IELTS 6.0 (5.5 all skills) or equivalent. A wide range of English test (UKVI and non-UKVI) is accepted for this course.
	Two Term Pre-Master's IELTS 5.5 (5.5 all skills) or equivalent. A wide range of English test (UKVI and non-UKVI) is accepted for this course. Students with lower scores will be offered a pre-sessional English course lasting 6 weeks (IELTS 5.0, 4.5 in each skill) or 12 weeks (IELTS 4.5, 4.0 in each skill).
Maximum Age	Students are normally aged between 21 - 30 years. Students with a study gap of more than 5 years cannot normally be considered for this course.
