US University Entry Requirements

Undergraduate Degrees

The tables below show the minimum academic requirements for entry to courses at undergraduate level.

Level Academic Requirements
International Year One Completion of secondary school in your own country (Year 11+) with good grades, equivalent to a US High School Diploma (GPA 2.0).
SAT/ACT not required for International Year One courses.
Bachelor's Degree Completion of secondary school in your own country (Year 11+) with very good grades, equivalent to a US High School Diploma (GPA 3.0).
SAT (1200+) or ACT.

Master's Degrees

The tables below show the minimum academic requirements for entry to courses at master's degree level.

Level Academic Requirements
Pre-Master's Course A bachelor's degree from an internationally recognised university, minimum GPA 2.25 on a 4.00 scale.
GRE/GMAT not required for pre-master's courses.
Master's Degree Bachelor's degree from an internationally recognised university, minimum GPA 3.0 in a related subject.
GMAT (business & management) or GRE (all other subjects) with good scores.

English Language Requirements

These are the minimum English language requirements for direct entry to courses at various levels.

Level English Requirements
International Year One * IELTS 5.0 (4.5 in all skills) or TOEFL iBT 50.
Bachelor's Degree IELTS 6.5 (6.0 in all skills) or TOEFL iBT 80+.
Pre-Master's Course * IELTS 5.5 (5.0 in all skills) or TOEFL iBT 65.
Master's Degree IELTS 6.5 (6.0 in all skills) or TOEFL iBT 80.

* A wide range of alternative qualifications is accepted for these courses, including Pearsons, Duolingo and some high school English qualifications (e.g. IGCSE). Academic English courses (1 - 3 semesters) are usually available for students who do not meet the English requirements.
