Degree Preparation Courses
The International Study Centre (ISC) prepares international students for entry to undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses at the University of Huddersfield.
The International Foundation Year provides guaranteed entry to the first year of an undergraduate degree in a wide range of subjects, including engineering, science, computing, business, law, hospitality, transport, logistics and fashion design. The International Year 1 is an advanced foundation course that provides direct entry to the second year, so more advanced students can complete their undergraduate degree in only 3 years instead of 4.
The pre-masters prepares students for entry to selected master's degrees in fields such as art & design, business, information technology, health and education.

Huddersfield is a progressive modern university, which has invested heavily in recent years. New facilities include the iconic, £17m business school (2010), a £14m creative arts building (2008) and the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre (2013). Student services include a Job Shop, which helps students find part time work during their studies. The Career Service also assists international students find post study work in the UK (via the Tier 2 Visa Route) for up to 6 years after graduating.
The campus is situated close to the centre of Huddersfield, a lively market town in the North of England. The city is located in the heart of Yorkshire, with easy access to some of Britain's best loved National Parks. Nearby, you can visit the Peak District National Park and the dramatic Yorkshire Moors, setting for Emily Brontë's famous novel Wuthering Heights.

University approved accommodation is available at two sites off campus. Storthes Hall Student Village, which has a large undergraduate population, is a 15 minute bus ride from campus and is served by a dedicated shuttle bus. Ashenhurst House is a short walk from campus and the city centre and is particularly popular with postgraduate students, as it has a more laid back atmosphere.
Accommodation consists of a single en-suite study bedroom with shared kitchen facilities, broadband internet and access to shared services (e.g. laundry). Both sites are professionally managed and have 24/7, on-site security.
Huddersfield is a friendly and welcoming university with a strong reputation for student safety.
