If the high school qualification you have from your own country is not sufficient for entry to a UK university, then a university foundation course will help you bridge the gap. Most programmes take less than a year to complete and place successful candidates on degree courses at participating UK universities.
Is This Course Right For You?
University foundation courses provide a fast track route to UK universities for international students. As well as improving your academic skills, most courses provide study skills and English training to help you succeed at university. Many courses are assessment based, so you can avoid the stress of end of year examinations.
Some courses provide a guaranteed university place for successful students. However, you will only be able to apply to universities that participate in the foundation programme, so check the institution you want to study at recognises the course. If you want to be able to apply to any university in the UK, including top universities like Oxford and Cambridge, you should consider A Levels or the International Baccalaureate instead.
Entry Requirements
To apply for a foundation year, you will need a good secondary education from your own country and an English language level of at least IELTS 4.5 or equivalent.
